Design Technology

The intent of our Design and Technology curriculum is to teach the progression of practical skills which enable the children to design and make functional products. As they progress through school, they will be given the opportunity to experiment with design in a range of contexts.

This includes adapting recipes, designing models, projects with moving parts and textiles.  By the end of KS2 children will have developed the skills required to prepare food, create fabric products and construct models using a range of materials, mechanisms and techniques. Reviewing, adapting, persevering and evaluating are some of the personal development skills learnt through our DT curriculum

DT Skills are demonstrated and taught as a whole class and in small groups. Children will develop individual projects and work in pairs or as part of a small team.
