Year 5 have had a fabulous first few days - learning about their new Novel Study and the protagonist's favourite sweets, and beginning a new Art unit of study based on Self-identity. The children enjoyed seeing the differences in each monoprint and celebrating how unique we all are!

As part of Brazil Day celebrations to conclude our Georgraphy topic, each Year 5 class has been making a special Brazilian treat, learning about the importance of the Amazon Rainforest, and practising their samba moves for a very special carnival celebration!
In the afternoon the children got to taste-test their cheese bread, chocolate truffles and lemonade, show off their carnival masks and join in the samba rhythms!

Year Three loved hosting the Willow Tree Sculpture Park at the end of the school day! They showcased work inspired by their recent trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, where they saw the works of Barbara Hepworth and Henry Moore. Many children chose to incorporate windows in their designs like Hepworth, and all painted and glazed their work to look like the bronze works of Moore.

A brilliant, fabulous sports day! Thank you to all the parents who attended and supported, cheered-on and encouraged the children! Thank you to the great Willow Tree School PTFA - Harrogate for keeping us well-fed throughout the day, to the wonderful students from Harrogate High School for supporting the events, and to all the brilliant Willow Tree children for trying their hardest, working together, competing fiercely and having a great day in the sun!
