Reception had a fantastic morning with Chef Mike from Aspens catering, learning how to make their very own pizzas! The children enjoyed rolling out the dough, spreading the tomato sauce and choosing their favourite toppings before creating their delicious masterpieces!

Year 5 investigated irreversible changes of state in their Science lesson yesterday. The children used a combination of ice cubes and salt to freeze milk - making their very own ice cream!

After taste-testing, designing and planning, Year 4 have finally been mixing, kneading, proving and baking their own bread this morning! They have added in their own variety of flavours - some were very interesting combinations (!), we can’t wait to taste it this afternoon!

Following our visit to Harrogate High School this morning, Year 5 all completed fieldwork around the local area focusing on 'smells'. We did a 'Smellscape' to see what smells we could recognise and how they impact our environment. We discussed how the weather and the settlement type makes an impact on the smells we identified!

5KW took advantage of the (slightly) cooler morning temperatures and shade! The children built a giant obstacle course, their own see saw, practised their throwing and catching and even opened their own ‘Holes’ inspired restaurant!

Year 1 have been out in the shade on a sensory walk, recording what they can see, hear, smell and feel. The children also used double sided tape to collect some of the items that they found.

This morning Year 3 went for a walk around school to observe colours in the environment as part of our Geography work. We noticed that human features often use bright colours to stand out and attract attention or to indicate danger!
